Troop 362
Troop 362 is a long-established, youth-led Scout troop in El Cajon built around the Patrol Method, outdoor adventure, leadership development, and service. We place a strong emphasis on high adventure and the outdoors, giving Scouts opportunities to challenge themselves through camping, backpacking, wilderness travel, and increasingly demanding experiences as they grow. At the same time, leadership development is a major priority within the troop community. Scouts are given real responsibility early, supported by older Scouts and experienced adult leaders, and encouraged to grow into positions of greater trust and service.
What makes Troop 362 distinctive is the continuity of that culture. Older Scouts teach younger Scouts, outgoing leaders mentor those who follow them, and the troop works hard to give Scouts meaningful authority rather than simply assigning titles. We believe high adventure builds competence and resilience, while leadership develops through experience, reflection, and responsibility. Together, those priorities help Scouts become more capable, confident, dependable, and prepared to serve others.
